European Parliament approves provisional agreement on new regulation for transfer of criminal proceedings between Member States

23/04/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 April in Strasbourg, Parliament validated the text resulting from the provisional political agreement of 6 March (see EUROPE B13366A8) on a new legal framework for the transfer of criminal proceedings between Member States. Approved by a very large majority (604 votes in favour, 2 against and 6 abstentions), the regulation would make it possible to avoid parallel proceedings for the same case by limiting prosecutions to the country best placed...
