MEPs reluctantly approve reform of Schengen Borders Code

24/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 April, the European Parliament approved the targeted revision of the Schengen Borders Code (see EUROPE B13374A22, B13377A30) by 311 votes to 267 with 53 abstentions. Criticised by NGOs, the reform is intended to provide a framework and limit the reintroduction of controls at the Schengen internal borders.
